The Slater-Marietta Arts Center

In 2009, Blue Wall Group was offered the old New Horizons Medical Clinic for the use as an arts center. Since that time BWG has worked to refurbish the center, formally called the Slater-Marietta Arts Center. Although much work has been done on the facility, refurbishments are ongoing.

The Lobby-

The Lobby serves as our primary gallery space for visual works of art, sales and information.

The Performance Studio-

A small, intimate performance space with the ability to seat up to 40 people. Used for classes, rehearsals, and productions of our Dance, Film, Music, and Theater programs. Thanks to the generosity of the Harris family, owners of Louise's House of Dance in Travelers Rest, SC, the studio is equipped with a beautiful dance floor. Further improvements will complete the Studio with a control booth, a lighting system, and an audiovisual system.

The Administration Suite-

The Administration Suite is home to the Center's Box Office and the Administrator.

The Media Lab-

The Media Lab is home to the Film and Animation programs. The lab is supplied with a Mac computer for editing, cameras, and tripods.

The Art Studio-

The Art Studio is home to all of our Visual Art classes. The studio features large counters and ample storage. Further improvements include the addition of a kiln and potter's wheel for pottery making.

The Conference Room-

The Conference Room will be used as an addition classroom for lecture-style classes and for meetings of the Blue Wall Group's Governing Board.

The Shop-

The Shop will be constructed to allow the construction of sets, costumes, and other necessities for the production of quality shows and exhibitions. The Shop will also provide storage for props, costumes, and other set pieces.

Practice Rooms-

Former Doctors offices are put to artistic use as Studio space for individual artists, for one-on-one classes, for dressing/green rooms during productions, and whatever the needs of the center may be.

The Professional Library-

Plans are in the works to stock a library at the center for member Artists.

The Piano Studio-

The Piano Studio is a beautiful room largely used for our Piano program.
